Hanoi La Siesta Hotel Red Bean Restaurant

At Red Bean our vision is to become one of Vietnam’s leading restaurant brands serving modern Vietnamese cuisine with high quality and innovative ideas but never forgetting the roots and value of true and authentic Vietnamese cooking.

Our aim is to build a great reputation in the hospitality and restaurant trade. To help lead the way in creating inspirational dishes which keep true to Vietnamese cooking embodying the five elements of metal, wood, fire, water and earth that underpin Vietnamese food.

Why Red Bean? It may seem a humble and simple red bean (in Vietnamese đậu đỏ) but it is a versatile, very important and far reaching ingredient in Vietnamese (and other Asian) dishes both sweet and savory. As well as having a high nutritional value, philosophically the red bean embodies a deep and powerful meaning within Asian societies. It is believed to be a symbol of love and fidelity, and is featured in legends and poems about love and romance.
We chose the name Red Bean as it is symbolic of what we aspire to in Vietnamese cuisine. Let our menu take you on a culinary Vietnamese journey stimulating the senses and taste buds. Colors, flavors and fragrances of our famous and not so famous national and regional dishes are combined and exquisitely presented. Dine at Red Bean and fall in love with Vietnam.

As proud parents we thought you would also like to know that there is a second and more personal reason we chose the name Red Bean. When our youngest son was born we immediately nicknamed him đậu đỏ or Red Bean because he looked like a big red bean the first few months of his life. And the name stuck. He loves his food and we love him and perhaps one day he will grow up to be a chef by which time we hope there will be a chain of Red Bean restaurants throughout Vietnam!

Went here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food was presented and cooked very nicely.what was even more amazing and that you would never get in the UK is that the chef comes out of the kitchen and talks to each of his customers. What fantastic service is that!!

We had the pleasure of dining in the Red Bean for Dinner and the food and presentation first class.

My wife had the Rolling Beef and I had the Stuffed Chicken Leg, both very delicious and enjoyed with a Chilean Red Wine.

The staff were very friendly and very conversant in English.

Before Dinner, we enjoyed some Cocktails during the Happy Hour from 16:30 till 18:00, two for one drinks - not to be missed.

Highly recommended, we found the prices in line with our expectations of a First Class Restaurant.

Ate two meals at the restaurant. Food was super. Had duck, pasta, and spring rolls. Could not have tasted better. Food prices very fair. Service was super. Lovely people. Highly recommend if looking to escape the chaos outside.

I had a couple of meals at Red Bean. they were both excellent and crowned with top service by the staff, especially Mr Viet. As for the food, I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon with dill dressing - delicious.

If you stay at La Siesta, this is where you eat breakfast. The buffet there for breakfast features puddings, mousse, cheese, cold cuts, salads, pastries, fruits, spring rolls, sushi, and much, much more. You can also order any type of eggs, oatmeal, French toast, etc. This, along with excellent tea and coffee and juice, is your breakfast. Seriously, my wife took pictures of the buffet because it was so beautiful. We also enjoyed a drink at the bar (about $5-$6 per drink, but happy hour makes this an even better deal. Dinner there is also good. The menu is varied, the foods are creative and both Vietnamese and Western. We had Viet Nguyen, an especially good waiter who took the time to talk with us for a minute or two. This hotel and restaurant is right in the Old Quarter. Prices are more than fair and the atmosphere is top rate.
